Math Coach's Corner with Ms. Perkins

Greetings G.W.C. Family! Welcome to the 2023-24 school year!

One TEAM, One DREAM!

My name is Tamieka F. Perkins and I have the privilege of being the Building-Based Math Coach this year! I am thankful and ecstatic about entering my 22nd year in education.  I am a native of Tuskegee and received all of my formal education in the Macon County Schools System. In May 2002, I earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education from Tuskegee University and on July 29, 2022 I received my Masters of Science in School Counseling from Troy University.

I love sports. My favorite collegiate teams are  the Tuskegee Golden Tigers and The Alabama Crimson Tide. The Dallas Cowboys are my favorite professional team, and the "Showtime" Los Angeles Lakers are my favorite professional basketball team.

I enjoy couponing, traveling, and spending time with my family.

I am the proud mother of Tamayah Randle-Bickerstaff, bonus babies, Whitley (Tyler) Liggins and Willie Ferguson, III. I am also a proud grandmother and adore the title "Noonie" of Preston, Kylar, and Tyler, Tyson and Harlyn. Being a mother, grandmother, and teacher, I believe:

1. All children are able to learn if the information is presented to them more than once and in a manner that sparks their interest.

2. Every child should have a caring adult in their lives. It may not be a parent or even a family member. It may be a neighbor, friend, teacher, or a COACH!

3. When parents and families are involved in their children’s schools, the children do better and have better feelings about going to school.

It is my hope that this year be enjoyable and educational for you!
